So last Sunday was a beautiful, warm, spring day and we decided to go on a big walk...Gracie pleaded to wear her roller blades so we gave in. We were on the last leg of our journey when Gracie went ahead of us. We thought "Wow!! Gracie sure is going fast" and then we remembered the "dips".....she navigated the first one and we sighed in relief...but wait...there was another dip as she was turning onto the next street. We all stopped...and waited....annndddd she makes it......oh noooooo, her arms are flailing....she disappears from our view....but we know she's down. Tim took off running to get to her. We picked her up and rolled her home. When we checked her out she had a little road rash and the beginnings of a bruise. The next day the "bruise the size of a small melon" began to show all its glorious colors....the picture hardly does it justice. Gracie is recovering nicely. Advice from Gracie " if you have a bruise the size of a small melon and a bit of road rash, trying to slide out of bed isn't the best idea". Mom's advice....learn to use the brakes on the blades and where were your pads and helmet????
